Definition and details
The stars are symbolic categories combining numbers, colors and phase associations, rather than nine observable fixed stars. Names such as One White Water and Two Black Earth occur in calendars and directional interpretation. Establish the category table, year boundary and diagram before reading the commentary; star here is not automatically an astronomical term.
Structure and history
NDL catalog records for works associated with Sonoda Shinjirō help document modern publication history. Shared vocabulary with older calendar annotations does not establish that the modern name or rules existed unchanged in antiquity. A reprint date is also not the system’s founding date; identify authorial and editorial layers individually.
A concrete example
Takashima’s publisher connects its nine-star almanac with solar-term timing. Compare a page’s seasonal marker, symbolic star and direction advice as separate fields. The marker is calendrical data, while the star and advice belong to that almanac’s interpretive system. A publisher’s usage account does not independently prove that movement changes life outcomes.
Context and limits
Textbooks can differ over year boundaries, months, diagrams and scope, so cite the version used. This introduction treats categories as cultural vocabulary rather than labels for personality or ability.
